Item 2 · Sunrise to Orange: A Golden Country Weekend

Open

Donated by Nick and Milena Skepev

Follow the Canola Trail in full bloom during the 2027 canola season, then wind down with two nights in Orange, one of NSW's best food and wine towns. Day 1: Temora Start at the Temora Aviation Museum, home to one of the world's finest collections of flying historic aircraft. Climb into one of its full-motion warbird flight simulators: a Spitfire, a P-51 Mustang or a P-40 Kittyhawk. No flying experience is needed, and an instructor guides you from briefing to landing. https://www.aviationmuseum.com.au/visitor-information/admission-bookings Spend the night at Harberton House, the restored Edwardian residence of Temora's old Union Bank manager on the town's heritage main street. Your king ensuite room has high ceilings and crisp linen, and there's a sunny private courtyard for a glass of wine under country stars. Cafes and pubs are a short walk away. Flights leave from the Aviation Museum. Afterwards you'll celebrate with Prosecco and chocolates, and take home photos taken during the flight. Then take the scenic drive north to Orange. https://www.visitnsw.com/things-to-do/tours/goldrush-ballooning/canola-flight-temora Days 2–4: Orange Two nights in a king room at The Mantra Orange, a brand-new hotel opening in November 2026, with cooked breakfast each morning. Orange is easy to fall for. The cool-climate wineries around Mount Canobolas produce some of the country's best chardonnay, pinot noir and sparkling. You can drive to the summit for sweeping views, or walk around Lake Canobolas. In town there's Cook Park, the Orange Regional Gallery, and excellent restaurants built on local produce. Historic Millthorpe, a short drive away, is perfect for a long lunch and a slow browse through its shops. Package includes 1 night at Harberton House, Temora (king ensuite, breakfast included) Warbird flight simulator experience at Temora Aviation Museum Sunrise canola balloon flight for two with Goldrush Ballooning, including Prosecco and in-flight photos 2 nights at The Mantra Orange (king room, breakfast included)
